As part of the Winter Carnival activities at École Jean-Paul II (1795 Main Street, Val Caron), junior kindergarten to grade 8 students will take part in a cardboard box race on a snow-covered surface. This fun event will be held on Friday, February 23, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the school grounds. Members of the media are invited to attend this fun winter activity.

Some 40 teams of three students will take part in this fun event. With the help of their parents, the members of each team were able to make a sled by using a cardboard box. In an effort to make their vehicle more slippery, the students could adapt their sled with the following elements: duct, hockey or masking tape; string and garbage bags. Students could also paint their sled and add decorative elements. While one student will be sitting in the box, the other two will be required to push the sled a distance of 30 meters over the snow packed surface.
