Collège Notre-Dame students reach $700,000 in donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation

March 5, 2015

Sudbury’s Collège Notre-Dame (CND) recently launched its 27th annual fundraising campaign in support of the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. With more than 300 students taking part in the February 22 annual door-to-door blitz across Greater Sudbury, the CND was able to raise $19,000. Including this most recent donation, total funds raised by Collège Notre-Dame during the last 27 years has reached $700,000.

Collège Notre-Dame students, families and staff strongly support the Foundation’s dedication to promoting cutting-edge cancer research and the offering of quality care to Northern Ontario patients.

“All CND students and staff want to thank the Greater Sudbury community for their generous donations. The ongoing support of Greater Sudbury residents is a great motivator and helps us to continue our fund raising campaign and participate in the efforts to beat cancer,” declared Mrs. Johanne Chrétien, Collège Notre-Dame Principal.

“We are proud to know that so many Collège Notre-Dame teenagers have such a strong involvement in the community and want to contribute to its wellbeing,” stated Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario. “Faith, hope and charity are our guiding virtues at the CSCNO. We congratulate our students for their leadership qualities and recognize that they are all remarkable Catholic citizens.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with more than 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
