WHAT? Official launch of two new GaGa Ball octagons at École St-Paul in Lively
Members of the media are cordially invited to the official launch of two new play areas at École St-Paul in Lively. Through the generous support of Lively’s Pine Hill Lumber, which donated $1600 in construction materials, and the energy and enthusiasm of the volunteer parents who undertook the construction, École St-Paul students now have two octagonal play areas for GaGa Ball games. The project was spearheaded by École St-Paul teacher Julie Punkkinen. Following the official launch, students and adults will face off in a friendly game of GaGa Ball.
GaGa Ball is a variant of dodgeball, and originates from Israel. The object of the game, which combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping, is to be the last person standing. Games usually last about five minutes and are played in an octagonal pit instead of the traditional rectangular field.
