On June 18, Carrefour Options+ and Villa St-Gabriel Villa proudly celebrated the eight Personal Support Worker (PSW) program graduates. These students are the first Living Classroom cohort from the Carrefour Options+ to receive their PSW certification as well as their pin and certificate from the Ontario Long Term Care Association.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon recently unveiled the two staff members who are being recognized for their exceptional contributions: Mr. Gilles Richer, teacher at École St-Dominique (Sudbury), and Ms. Rébecca Langelier, teacher at École secondaire catholique Trillium (Chapleau). This distinction, which is awarded to two employees each year, recognizes individuals who truly stand out in their role.

Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the upcoming Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon elementary school track and field competitions. Some 700 grade 4 to 8 students from over 15 Greater Sudbury area schools will gather at the Laurentian University athletic track on Friday, June 21, and on Monday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to take part in these annual friendly competitions.

On June 17, 2024, Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon and the Association des enseignantes et enseignants franco-ontariens de l’Ontario  – Local 61 – reached a tentative agreement. The ratification meeting is to take place before the end of June 2024.

It is with great pride that École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) will offer the Hockey Canada Skills Academy (HCAS) Program starting in September 2024. This specialized program, offered for the first time in Wawa, will allow grade 6 to 8 students with a passion for hockey to perfect their mastery of the sport within the framework of the school day.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is pleased that its commitment to increasing its energy efficiency has not gone unnoticed. In fact, CSC Nouvelon ranked 3rd in the Sustainable Schools’ 2024 Top Energy Performing School Boards Report that measures the energy efficiency of Ontario school board for the 2021-2022 school year. The 72 school boards in the province were ranked on their energy savings potential, which is the gap between their target and current energy consumption values.

On Thursday, June 13, at 10:30 a.m., over 1,300 grade 4 to 8 Francophone students from some 20 Greater Sudbury, Sudbury East, Espanola, Spanish and Blind River schools will gather at Bell Park’s Grace Hartman Amphitheatre for a St-Jean performance featuring the improvisation group Improtéine. The show is presented jointly by Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord and the St-Jean committee in Sudbury.
