Artist in residence shares knowledge and passion with CSC Nouvelon students and teachers

June 24, 2021

From June 16 to 25, some 140 students and five teachers from the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon took part in a cultural education project led by artist in residence Éric Lapalme. For several years now, Éric Lapalme, an artist, musician, actor, composer and performer well known in the Greater Sudbury region, has been sharing his knowledge as well as his artistic and cultural passion with CSC Nouvelon students.

By offering these workshops in a virtual format, CSC Nouvelon seeks to establish a knowledge base in music in order to increase the interest of students for the music programs offered at the secondary level. Teachers participating in this training will have a better understanding of music theory, reading notes and on to use the Musescore software.

This Artist in residence program is made possible through a grant from the Ontario Arts Council.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,400 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
