CSCNO Director of Education mandate renewed

April 1, 2015

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) is pleased to announce the renewal of Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau’s mandate as Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer, until 2021.

Lyse-Anne Papineau, who has worked in the field of education since 1993, was first appointed to the position of CSCNO Director of Education in January, 2008. In the course of her career, she has been a teacher, a curriculum consultant, a school principal, an assistant superintendent and a superintendent. In her role as Director of Education, Mrs. Papineau benefitted from her experience and teaching skills to set high standards for student academic performance, in addition to focusing attention on the importance of building a strong francophone Catholic identity to help every student thrive and succeed.

Under her leadership, the CSCNO also acquired a new vision and mission, as well as a new visual identity. Chair of the 2009 United Way/Centraide Sudbury campaign, Mrs. Papineau also chaired the Conseil ontarien des directeurs et des directrices de l’éducation catholique (CODEC) from 2009 to 2012 and currently chairs the Comité d’orientation de l’éducation catholique de langue française (COREC).

CSCNO president André Bidal is delighted by the CSCNO’s accomplishments under the leadership of its Director of Education: “Mrs. Papineau has demonstrated, and continues to demonstrate, an outstanding commitment to providing CSCNO students with a quality French-language Catholic education. Her dynamic leadership has enabled our board to stand out at every level by putting Catholic francophone students at the heart of our decisions.”

Lyse-Anne Papineau is delighted at this vote of confidence from CSCNO school trustees: “It’s an honour and a privilege for me to be able to contribute to offering a French-language Catholic education that is recognized for its excellence, with the support of our school trustees and the outstanding CSCNO staff. The overall success and development of every child in our charge remains my top priority, and it is with great enthusiasm that I am taking on my new mandate in the current era of 21st-century learning!”

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
