New student trustees elected to the CSCNO board

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) is proud to announce the election of two new student trustees who will commence their 2-year term on August 1, 2019.

For the Algoma and Manitoulin Districts, Katelyn Trivers, a grade 10 student at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River), will succeed Cloey Odenback. As for the Sudbury District, Mathieu Simon, a grade 10 student at École secondaire catholique l’Horizon (Val Caron), will follow in Vanessa Morris’ footsteps.

“We congratulate all the candidates who submitted their candidacy as well as those who participated in the selection committee,” states Mr. André Bidal, President of the CSCNO. “Our two student trustees hold an important role in the promotion of French Catholic Education and are a veritable asset to our Board in sharing student concerns.”

“I have full confidence that Katelyn and Mathieu will fulfill their duties as student representatives for the Board as well as the Board’s Student Senate,” adds Ms. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education for the CSCNO. “We are proud of the fact that our students recognize the importance of this role as well as the incredible opportunity it offers them in developing their Catholic and Francophone leadership in their own school and their community.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.

Le 8 mai 2025, plus de 60 adeptes de jeux vidéo de la 5e à la 12e année provenant de 9 écoles du Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon se sont réunis à Sudbury afin de participer au tout premier tournoi de la ligue de sports électroniques scolaires du Conseil.

Blitz annuel de collecte de fonds du Collège Notre-Dame pour la Fondation du Nord pour la recherche en cancérologie

Le Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury) tiendra son blitz annuel de collecte de fonds le mercredi 7 mai dans le cadre de la Semaine de l’éducation catholique. Le CND s’attend à une participation de près de 130 élèves à cette campagne annuelle au profit de la Fondation du Nord pour la recherche en cancérologie.
