Open-House and Kindergarten registration at Elliot Lake’s École catholique Georges Vanier

Parents wishing to register their child in a full-time French-language Kindergarten program are invited to come discover École catholique Georges Vanier (Elliot Lake) during its Open House event on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 6 to 7 p.m. (doors will open at 5:45 p.m.) École catholique Georges Vanier is located at 140 Hillside Avenue North in Elliot Lake.

During the open house event, children and their parents will be able to visit the junior and senior kindergarten classroom and meet the preschool teaching team. Children will be treated to a variety of arts and craft activities, coloring, construction as well as technology activities on iPads. Snacks will also be offered.

Like all Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools, École catholique Georges Vanier offers full special needs programs, a quality English-language program starting in grade 4 ensuring sustainable bilingualism, a curriculum instilled with Catholic values, access to state-of-the-art technology, and an environment that nurtures and promotes a sense of Francophone culture and identity. CSC Nouvelon schools also attain superior academic results and its students graduate with a high level of bilingualism and a solid grasp of the French language.

The CSC Nouvelon welcomes children of Canadian citizens or immigrants whose first language learned and still understood is French as well as children of Canadian citizens whose grandparents’ first language was French. Children from immigrant families where the parents speak neither French nor English are also eligible.

Le Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury) tiendra son blitz annuel de collecte de fonds le mercredi 7 mai dans le cadre de la Semaine de l’éducation catholique. Le CND s’attend à une participation de près de 130 élèves à cette campagne annuelle au profit de la Fondation du Nord pour la recherche en cancérologie.
