The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is pleased to announce that the purchase of the property that will serve for the construction of a new French-language Catholic school in Hanmer / Val Thérèse has been finalized. The selected property, measuring 16,24 acres (6.572 hectares), is located in Val Thérèse on Municipal Road 80 (formerly Highway 69 North) at the intersection of Shirley Avenue.

Having already received the capital funding approval for the construction of this new school, Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon will be able to proceed with the design of the architectural plans of the new school and day care for students and families of École Notre-Dame (Hanmer), École St-Joseph (Hanmer) and École Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse). The CSC Nouvelon will inform families as well as its staff of the next steps as well as the timeline of the project.

“We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of this strategically located property that will offer great visibility to our school while meeting the needs of our families in Hanmer and Val Thérèse,” stated Mr. André Bidal, CSC Nouvelon President.

“During our consultation process, our families stated their desire to offer students a modern and welcoming environment that will allow them to thrive in a green school designed for their future needs in this digital era. While respecting this wish, we will seek to offer our students and staff a new school that will meet their expectations and needs,” explained Mr. Paul Henry, CSC Nouvelon Director of Education and Secretary Treasurer.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,400 students enrolled in 27 elementary schools, one virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
