A new school year begins on September 3

August 27, 2014

Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) staff are looking forward to welcoming students on Wednesday, September 3, the first school day of the 2014-2015 school year. The CSCNO wishes to remind parents that there will be no early dismissal, and that students will depart from school at the regular time.

“We are always excited to see our new and returning students,” said Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, CSCNO Director of Education. “With the support of our staff, parents and partners, we are committed to offering a quality French language catholic education to all of our students.”

This year, the CSCNO expects some 7,000 students in its 37 schools. Whereas about 5,300 students are registered in its 27 elementary schools, more than 1,750 students will pursue their studies in its ten secondary schools. Also worth noting, over 1,100 students will benefit from the CSCNO’s proven expertise with the Full Time Kindergarten Program offered in all of its French Catholic schools.

Located in the heart of a dynamic region with a strong Francophone tradition, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario is one of the largest Francophone school boards in Ontario and in French Canada. The area served by the CSCNO includes the communities of Chapleau, Dubreuilville, Espanola, Greater Sudbury, Hornepayne, Michipicoten, North Shore, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury East.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with more than 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
