Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury honours two CSC Nouvelon employees

The Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury (LDAS) recently recognized individuals and community partners who have contributed to the successful and continuous growth of the organization. Among those honoured at the event were Ms. Valérie Larivière and Ms. Roxane Bigras, two Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon staff members.

Ms. Roxane Bigras, a teacher at École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), was presented one of the Outstanding Educator Awards, which recognizes her commitment to evidence-based teaching practices, her continuous pursuit of learning as well as her dedicated efforts to support students with learning disabilities. Recipients of this award are innovators, grounding their teaching in the latest research.

Ms. Valérie Larivière, Lead in Mental Health and Wellness at CSC Nouvelon, is the recipient of the Ron Lessard Outstanding Parent Award. This award recognizes her dedication to understanding learning disabilities and supporting her child, as well as her contributions to the community. This parent is a constant, reliable and attentive presence in her child’s life, always seeking knowledge to help her child thrive and succeed.

Roxane Bigras and Valérie Larivière do remarkable work and stand out for their efforts in support of students with learning disabilities. The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 5,650 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.

Plus de 350 élèves des neuf écoles secondaires du Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon recevront leur Diplôme d’études secondaires de l’Ontario entre le 5 et le 25 juin 2025. De plus, le Carrefour Options+, l’école d'éducation permanente du CSC Nouvelon, célébrera ses diplômés du programme de Préposé aux services de soutien personnel (PSSP).

L’art des jeunes du secondaire au coeur de la St-Jean à Sudbury

Dans le cadre des festivités de la St-Jean à Sudbury, le Centre de santé communautaire du Grand Sudbury (CSCGS), le Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon et le Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord sont fiers d’offrir, pour la deuxième année consécutive, une exposition d’arts unique en son genre. Cette collaboration vise à célébrer le talent émergent et la créativité de la jeunesse francophone.
