CSC Nouvelon to offer new hockey program for grade 7 and 8 students in Greater Sudbury

It is with great pride that Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon will offer a new hockey program starting in September 2024 for grade 7 and 8 students in École St-Augustin (Garson), École St-Denis (Sudbury) and École catholique Félix-Ricard (Sudbury). Associated to Collège Notre-Dame’s Hockey Canada Skills Academy, this new program will allow girls and boys with a passion for hockey to perfect their mastery of the sport within the framework of the school day. Interested students and parents can find out more during an information session on Wednesday, April 10, at 7 p.m., at Collège Notre-Dame (100 Lévis Street, Sudbury)..
ÉSC La Renaissance students to take part in the Way of the Cross in Espanola

CSC Nouvelon students to take part in improv workshops

From February 20 to April 11, grade 6 and 7 students from Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools in Greater Sudbury, Sudbury East and Espanola will be taking part in improvisation workshops. Through to the support of CSC Nouvelon's Francophone Identity Building team, the schools will have the opportunity to welcome instructor Chloé Thériault and Rodney Meilleur, CSC Nouvelon's Identity Building facilitator.

New student trustees for the Districts of Sudbury/Manitoulin and Algoma elected at CSC Nouvelon

Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is proud to announce the election of two new student trustees who will commence their term on August 1, 2024. Mélanie Denis-Plante, a grade 11 student at École secondaire catholique l’Horizon (Val Caron), will succeed Zackary Vaillancourt as student trustee for the District of Sudbury. Lydia Raddon, a grade 10 student at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River), will be the new student trustee for the District of Algoma and will succeed Mariska Lamothe.
School Boards approve 2024-2025 School Year Calendar

Boil water advisory in Dubreuilville: École St-Joseph will remain open

The Township of Dubreuilville has issued this morning a boil water advisory to its users due to potentially unsafe water. École St-Joseph in Dubreuilville is affected by this advisory. The school will remain open.

Supporting Anglophone and Allophone parents in their efforts to help their child learn in French

This year, parents and guardians of Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon students will have the opportunity to follow two free French as a second language programs. The Beginner 1 program is a 15-week courses. and will be offered online by Collège Boréal starting March 7, 2024. Some 15 participants started the Beginner 2 program in February. These programs will support Anglophone and Allophone parents as they learn and communicate in French to better support their child’s learning. The cost of the courses is covered by the CSC Nouvelon Parent Involvement Committee. However, spaces in both programs are limited.
