Students and staff at École secondaire catholique La Renaissance in Espanola celebrated on November 22 the official launch of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program in Environment. Parents, community members and school partners were also in attendance for this event which highlighted the addition of this new program aimed at enriching this French-language Catholic secondary school’s curriculum.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon was proud to launch a new Welcome Guide to Support Newcomers and their Families (Guide d'accueil des familles nouvellement arrivées) as part of the National Francophone Immigration Week. The welcome guide, which is supported by the CSC Nouvelon's Parent Participation Committee, was produced in partnership with Parents partenaires en éducation. The guide is designed to help families settle in Northern Ontario as well as register and support their children in their learning in French-language schools.

Due to completed work undertaken on the municipal water infrastructure in the vicinity of École Saint-Joseph (Blind River), the school will once again have access to water. As a result, the school will be open for all students from Kindergarten to grade 8 on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Due to shut off of water pipes due to work being done on the municipal water infrastructure in the vicinity of École Saint-Joseph (Blind River), the school will be closed for all students from Kindergarten to grade 8 on Monday, November 6, 2023.

Grade 8 students and their parents are invited to take part in École secondaire Notre-Dame-du-Sault’s Open House event on Thursday, November 16, at 6 p.m., at the school located at 600 North St. in Sault Ste. Marie.

On October 4, some 90 students as well as staff members from École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) took part in the 13th Homeless for a Night activity. With only cardboard boxes and tarps for shelters, the students were able to experience the reality of being homeless. They also collected non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Community members were able to stop by for a visit and donate to this great cause.
