Collège Notre-Dame will host its annual Northern Cancer Research Foundation fundraising blitz this coming Thursday, April 27. The school expects that student participation in this year’s annual campaign—which was first held close to 35 years ago—will rise to nearly 130. Since the inception of the drive, close to $763,000 has been collected, and the school hopes to add another $20,000 this year.

The door-to-door campaign blitz will take place on Thursday, April 27, between 5 and 8 p.m., in various Greater Sudbury neighbourhoods, with students first assembling in the school gymnasium to receive their instructions and enjoy a pizza supper. Members of the media are invited to attend from 3 to 3:45 p.m. to meet with student participants and organizers at Collège Notre-Dame (100 Lévis St., Sudbury).

“The display of commitment to this initiative on the part of our students and staff demonstrates exceptional compassion,” stated Collège Notre-Dame Principal Ms. Mélanie Leblanc. “The magnificent level of support and generosity from Greater Sudbury residents is a constant encouragement to continue this charitable campaign year after year and do our part in the fight against cancer.”
