On November 5th, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) presented to the presented to the school community of École Saint-Joseph and École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest school the document entitled “Feasibility Study for the Redevelopment of Catholic Schools in Espanola.” This document, produced jointly with Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, includes the results of the feasibility study and evaluation of various options pertaining to the utilization of school sites in Espanola.

This study outlines 10 options that seek to maximize the use of space while ensuring that all students continue to have access to the best programming possible in quality school facilities in Espanola. The document is available online at: www.nouvelon.ca/faisabilite/ecoles_espanola/info.pdf .

The CSCNO encourages the school community from both French language Catholic schools to share their opinion and submit comments by November 18. Comments can be relayed to the principals at École Saint-Joseph and É.s.c. Franco-Ouest or by email at .

The Ministry of Education is encouraging area school boards to work together to address student accommodation needs in Espanola.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
