WHAT?            Distribution of donations from Operation Christmas Child drive

On Thursday, November 21, at 9 a.m., students and staff at Sudbury’s École catholique Félix-Ricard will gather in the school gymnasium to celebrate the success of the school’s Christmas Child drive. This Christian sharing and global awareness campaign enabled the school to put together close to 300 boxes consisting of various articles (soap, tooth brushes, shoes, school supplies) for children living in developing countries.

During this gathering celebrating student success, the boxes will be donated to the Samaritan’s Purse organization, which will ensure its distribution to various countries.

Since September, Félix-Ricard students led an awareness drive on the importance of sharing with less fortunate children of the world and on the value of organizing collective humanitarian projects. Benefiting from the drive’s contagious synergy, students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 responded with passion to this initiative calling on international solidarity for the benefit of needy children. This activity is directly linked to the incorporation of the Covey “The Leader in Me” Program, inspired by the Seven habits of highly effective people, to the school’s regular learning program.
